What is a PS File?

Adobe PostScript, or, PS, file extension was created by Adobe systems in 1982. PS files are widely used in publishing industry for its capability of containing text and images on the same page. The PS files are basically programs that can instruct printers to display different objects on the same page. This file type is more like a programming language rather than common image format. To be specific PS file is an instruction set that tells the printer what to print and how to print.
